Backload freight

Backload freight
on our FNQ runs.

Our trucks leave Townsville loaded most business days — the Burdekin, Charters Towers, the Hinchinbrook coast and beyond — and the return leg often has space. A backload puts your freight in that space at a sharper rate than a dedicated run.

How backloads work

A backload trades exact timing for price. Tell us origin, destination, pallet count and your date window, and we match it against the week's run plan. If a truck is already passing, you get a manual quote at backload rates within one business hour — email [email protected] or use the quoter and mention you're flexible on timing.

Lanes where backloads happen

Return legs into Townsville from the FNQ corridor: Ayr and Home Hill in the Burdekin, Charters Towers on the Flinders Highway, Ingham–Cardwell–Tully up the coast, Bowen to the south, and the longer Cairns and Mackay lanes when scheduled work takes us there. Availability follows the freight calendar — ask early in the week if your window is tight.

What suits a backload

Non-urgent palletised or carton freight with a day or two of flexibility: stock returns, empty pallet repatriation (CHEP and Loscam), inter-branch transfers, and supplier pickups timed to our runs. If it must move today, book the Express same-day service instead — backloads are the patient saver's lane.
